Even today, there are several who falsely claim to be the true Messiah. How can one tell the difference between a counterfeit Messiah and the genuine?
What must be one's basis for discerning and proving to himself who the authentic Messiah is?
Herein are revealed the SCRIPTURAL tests which one must use to verify, check and assure himself of in regard to the Person and the office of the real Messiah, for one's own safe anchor of faith and sure salvation.
First of all, the concept of the 'Messiah' was based upon the Holy Scriptures. Y┴OHU UL Himself, our Creator, promised to send the Messiah, an Israeli, to liberate, save and deliver all peoples from all evil and perdition.
The Holy Scriptures therefore disqualify everyone who is not Jewish by birth for being the possible Messiah.
The Messiah must be Jewish, there's no doubt about that, because that is clearly specified in the Holy Scriptures.
Anyone therefore who purports or claims to be the Savior of mankind or the Deliverer or Messiah, who is not Jewish by birth should immediately be declared to be a fraud, a pseudo-messiah, counterfeit and bogus, after having been guided by what the Holy Scriptures say.
Even among the Jewish people, however, there were and still are several who claim to be the Messiah. How then can one differentiate the counterfeit from the genuine? The acid test to use, to avoid the wiles and deceptions of the hidden enemy, ha-satßn (the wild goat) is to examine and evaluate each claimant to the Office of the Messiah, in the light of what the Holy Scriptures clearly predict and prophesy regarding the Coming One, the true Messiah.
Remember, the original concept of a 'Messiah' was first revealed in the Holy Scriptures, so we must use only the Holy Scriptures in examining, verifying and proving anyone claiming to be the Messiah.
And besides, all throughout the ages, only the words of Y┴OHU UL, our Creator, as recorded in the Holy Scriptures, are the only safe basis for one's faith, since His words are true, reliable, pure and eternal.
Who among the several claimants to the Office of the Messiah fulfilled the sure prophecies in the Tanakh, or Hebrew Scriptures?
Who among them meets ALL of the qualifications set forth in the Tanakh?
You now ask, what are the qualifications and what prophecies need be fulfilled by the Messiah as revealed in the Hebrew Scriptures?
Following are clearly itemized out for you the major, important prophecies made by Y┴OHU UL Himself, through the mouths of His holy prophets, in the Holy Scriptures, and opposite each are the fulfillments thereof.
And surely you will finally prove to yourself that there is no other Messiah except Molkhi˙l YAOH┌SHUA hol-MEHUSHKH┴Y, Who fulfilled ALL of the major prophecies in the Tanakh about the Messiah.
Not 10%, not 40%, not even 99% of the prophecies did He fulfill but ALL of Y┴OHU UL's prophecies were fulfilled by and in Molkhi˙l YAOH┌SHUA hol-MEHUSHKH┴Y!
Now with you having open minds that are free from religious biases, please do examine for yourselves the following facts, and not mere speculations, but scriptural facts regarding the genuine Messiah:
Prophecies Regarding The Messiah's Birth:
THE MESSIAH MUST BE BORN OF THE SEED OF A WOMAN
THE MESSIAH MUST BE BORN OF A VIRGIN WOMAN
Virgin is denoted by two words in Hebrew:
Virgin is denoted in Greek by: 'parthenos' - a virgin, marriageable
maiden or young married woman, pure virgin. (Matthew 1:23; 25:1,7,11;
Luke 1:27; Acts 21:9; 1 Corinthians 7:25,28,33; 2 Corinthians 11:2)
THE MESSIAH MUST BE THE SON OF Y┴OHU UL
Note: Psalms 2 was always accepted by Jewish patriarchs as being a Messianic Psalm.
Mark 3:11 - The demons recognize His Sonship.
Man-Y┴OHU 26:63 - Even the high priest recognize His Sonship.
THE MESSIAH MUST BE THE SEED OF ABRUH┴M
The above passage requires that the true Messiah must come from
the Hebrew race.
THE MESSIAH MUST COME FROM THE LINEAGE OF Y┴OHUtz-kaq (ISAAC)
Abruhßm had two sons, Y┴OHUtz-kaq (Isaac) and Ishma˙l.
Now Y┴OHU UL eliminates half of the lineage of Abruhßm, the IshmaulÝtes, the forefathers of the modern-day Arabs.
The Messiah cannot be of Arabic descent, such as Mohammed. No way!
THE MESSIAH MUST COME FROM THE LINEAGE OF Y┴OHU-caf (JACOB)
Y┴OHUtz-kaq (Isaac) had two sons, Y┴OHU-caf (Jacob) and Esau.
Now Y┴OHU UL removes half the lineage of Y┴OHUtz-kaq (Isaac)
as possible source of the Messiah.
THE MESSIAH MUST COME FROM THE TRIBE OF YAOH┌-dah (JUDAH)
Targum Jonathan on Genesis 49:10,11a says, 'Kings shall not cease, nor rulers, from the house of YAOH┌-dah (Judah), nor sefarim teaching the law from his seed, till the time that the King, the Messiah, shall come.... How lovely is the King, and Messiah Who will arise from the house of YAOH┌-dah (Judah)!'
Y┴OHU-caf (Jacob) had twelve (12) sons who became the prime heads of the 12 tribes of the Hebrew nation. Now Y┴OHU UL discounts the other tribes as the possible tribe from which the Messiah will come from.
Y┴OHU-saf (Joseph) had no tribe named after him, but his two sons,
Ephraim and Manasseh, became heads of their respective tribes.
THE MESSIAH MUST COME FROM THE FAMILY LINE OF Y┴OHU-shai (JESSE)
Targum Yaoshua-Y┴OHU (Isaiah) says, 'And a King shall come forth
from the sons of Y┴OHU-shai (Jesse), and the Anointed One (or Messiah)
from his son's sons shall grow up. And there shall rest upon him
a Spirit from before Y┴OHU UL, the Spirit of wisdom and comprehension,
the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge, and of the
reverential fear of Y┴OHU UL.'
THE MESSIAH MUST COME FROM THE LINEAGE OF D┴OUD (David)
The Messiah being referred to as the 'Son of Dßoud' is prevalent among all the Jewish Talmuds. Y┴OHU UL will raise up for Dßoud - a promise to Dßoud's progeny.
Y┴OHU-shai (Jesse) had several sons, but now, Y┴OHU UL says specifically that the Messiah will come forth from the lineage of Dßoud (David).
THE MESSIAH MUST BE BORN IN BETH-LEKHEM
In this passage, Y┴OHU UL explicitly declares that the Messiah will be born in Beth-Lekhem, and not in any other place in the world.
Micah is a prophet in the Tanakh or Hebrew Scriptures. Micah and the Hebrew Scriptures or Tanakh cannot err as to main contexts and contents.
AT BIRTH, THE MESSIAH MUST BE GIVEN GIFTS
Remember, there are several passages in the Tanakh which have historical
applications, as well as prophetic applications. Meaning, though the
passages were written in relation to actual occurrences then, still,
in them are prophetic forthtellings as regards the coming Messiah.
DURING THE MESSIAH'S INFANCY, CHILDREN WILL BE KILLED
Summarizing therefore, the true Savior and Messiah of all mankind appointed by the Eternal Creator, Y┴OHU UlhÝm, must have ALL the SCRIPTURAL qualifications as prescribed in the Holy Scriptures.
The Messiah cannot be an Arab, Chinese or Japanese nor can he be from India or any other ethnic background, but must be from the Jewish race!
Prophecies Regarding the Messiah's Person:
THE MESSIAH MUST BE ETERNAL, THE BEGINNING AND THE END
Targum Yaoshua-Y┴OHU (Isaiah) 9:6 says, 'The prophet said to the house
of Dßoud (David): A Child has been born to us, a Son has been given to us;
and He has taken the law upon Himself to keep it, and His Name has been
called from of old, Wonderful Counselor, Mighty UL, He Who lives forever,
the Anointed One (or the Messiah), in whose days peace shall increase
THE MESSIAH MUST BE CALLED 'ËDMORUL' (Ruler-Teacher)
R. Rabba ben Cahana (200-300 BCE) has said: 'Y┴OHU TZAODËQNU
(Y┴OHU is our Uprightness) is His Name, and this is proved by
'This is His Name' - (Yarmi-Y┴OHU - Jeremiah 23:6).
HIS TITLE MUST BE IMMANU-UL (Y┴OHU UL With Us)
THE MESSIAH MUST BE A PROPHET
Maimonides, in a letter to the community of Yemen wrote:
'The Messiah will be a very great Prophet, greater than all the prophets with the exception of Moses our Teacher.... His status will be higher than that of the prophets and more honorable, Moses alone excepted.
The Creator, blessed be He, will single Him out with features wherewith He had not singled out Moses; for it is said with reference to Him, 'And His delight shall be in the reverential fear of Y┴OHU UL; and He shall not judge after the sight of His eyes, neither decide after the hearing of His ears'' - (Explanations on Yaoshua-Y┴OHU 11:3).
So the Messiah must have eyes which can see, and ears which can hear.
This precludes sickly people from claiming the office of the Messiah, according to Maimonides himself. Still and all, we only use for our guidelines what the Holy Scriptures say, and the comments from Targums and other excerpts are only included here as supporting data. Also, remember that Moses and Caleb were still very healthy even in their old age.
Molkhi˙l YAOH┌SHUA and Mehush˙a (Moses) were alike in these aspects: both were miraculously delivered from death during their infancies, both were true prophets, both were intercessors, both have very close relationships with Y┴OHU UL, and more importantly, both were used by Y┴OHU UL to deliver His people.
Let's proceed to receive more scriptural wisdom and knowledge in the NEXT segment of these spiritually-awakening guidelines now....
